We are honored to share that KT White, Co-Founder and Program Director of Allies for Humanity, has been selected as a Class IX Fellow with the Mitch Daniels Leadership Foundation (MDLF).
This fellowship brings together leaders from across Indiana who are committed to strengthening their communities through service, collaboration, and civic engagement.
For us, this recognition is not just about KT, it is a reflection of the community we are building together.
Leadership Rooted in Relationship
KT’s leadership has always been grounded in proximity, presence, and trust.
Through Allies for Humanity, she has helped co-create spaces where individuals experiencing homelessness are not just served—but seen, known, and supported as whole human beings.
From launching The People’s Day Program to engaging in public testimony and systems advocacy, her work reflects a deep commitment to:
Dignity without conditions
Relational, trauma-informed care
Bridging lived experience with policy and decision-making
As shared in our organizational narrative, all of this work has been built through thousands of hours of community-rooted, volunteer-driven effort.
A Fellowship That Expands Impact
The MDLF Fellowship includes leaders from across sectors and regions of Indiana, creating space for shared learning, connection, and statewide impact.
KT will participate in a year-long experience beginning with an in-person orientation in Indianapolis this May .
This opportunity allows her to:
Deepen relationships with leaders across the state
Expand the reach of Allies for Humanity’s work
Bring community-rooted insight into broader leadership conversations
What This Means for Allies for Humanity
This moment represents a bridge.
A bridge between:
Grassroots, lived-experience leadership
Institutional and statewide leadership spaces
We believe that when voices closest to the challenges are included in leadership conversations, real transformation becomes possible.
KT’s presence in this fellowship ensures that the experiences of our unhoused neighbors (and the solutions emerging from community) are part of that dialogue.
Walking Forward Together
We are deeply grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity it creates...not just for KT, but for all of us.
This is a shared moment.
A reminder that what we are building matters. And that the work we are doing, together, is being seen.
We’re just getting started.
