Initiatives & Collaborations
Working together to understand, align, and create lasting change
Some challenges cannot be addressed by one organization alone.
Through collaborative initiatives, Allies for Humanity brings together community members, systems, and partners to deepen understanding, strengthen coordination, and move toward meaningful, human-centered solutions.
Why Initiatives Matter
The realities faced by our unhoused neighbors are complex and deeply interconnected—touching healthcare, housing, justice systems, and community support.
To respond meaningfully, we must move beyond isolated efforts and into shared understanding.
These initiatives create space for:
-
Collaboration across systems
-
Honest reflection on what is and isn’t working
-
Alignment around prevention and care
-
Human-centered approaches rooted in dignity
Current Initiatives
Dignity in Death Task Force
Honoring life. Understanding loss. Informing prevention.
The Dignity in Death Task Force is a cross-sector initiative developed in collaboration with the Marion County Coroner’s Office to deepen understanding of unhoused deaths in Indianapolis.
This work centers the person behind the data, ensuring individuals are recognized as whole human beings with lived experiences, histories, and dignity.
Through collaboration, the Task Force identifies patterns, explores system gaps, and helps inform prevention efforts across the city.
Unified Impact Coalition
Aligning efforts. Strengthening impact.
The Unified Impact Coalition is a growing network of organizations and community partners working together to reduce fragmentation and strengthen coordination across Indianapolis and throughout Indiana
.
This coalition is intentionally focused on aligning efforts among organizations serving youth, justice-impacted individuals, and those experiencing homelessness—creating space for shared understanding, collaboration, and more connected support systems.
Indiana Renters Rights Coalition
A statewide initiative organizing renters across Indianapolis and beyond to build tenant councils, strengthen collective voice, and advocate for stronger housing protections across Indiana.
From local property-level councils to statewide policy advocacy, this coalition connects renters, resources, and systems change.
